The door set guide

What is inside a complete flush door set, what each part does, and how to measure your opening before you order.

What is in the set

Door leaf
The flat-faced panel that swings — smooth, modern and easy to wipe down.
Frame
The timber surround fixed into the wall opening that the leaf hangs from.
Architraves
The trim around the frame on both sides — covers the joint between frame and wall so the reveal looks finished.
Lock
A mortise lock set into the leaf, fitted and tested on site.
Rubber seal
A perimeter seal that cuts draughts, dust and noise — and softens the close.
Handle
A lever handle on rose, matched to the lock.
PU foam
Expanding foam that fixes the frame to the wall — solid, without packed mortar gaps.
Delivery & installation
The set arrives at your site and the crew fits it — you do not need a separate fundi.

How to measure a door opening

  1. Measure the width

Inside the opening, brick to brick (or frame to frame), at top, middle and bottom. Use the smallest figure.

  2. Measure the height

Floor to underside of the lintel or frame, on the left and right. Again, use the smallest.

  3. Note the wall thickness

Measure how thick the wall is — it sets the frame depth.

  4. Check the swing

Stand where the door will open towards you: hinged left or hinged right? Note it down.

  5. Send it to us

WhatsApp the figures — or a photo of the opening with the tape held in it — and we quote against them.
